PATHOLOGY - ASSISTANT/ ASSOCIATE/ PROFESSOR

Job title: Assistant/Associate/Professor

Field/ Specialization: Pathology: Anatomical pathology/ Hematopathology/clinical pathology

Roles and Responsibility:

1. Teaching

· Teaching number of classes and seminars in his/her field of specialization to students in the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, making use of innovative and modern educational methods.

· Following up and continually being aware of the up-to-date scientific research in the scientific specialization he/she teaches in the department or scientific program to ensure that quality assurance standards are met in the instructional process.

Participating effectively in reviewing and designing course materials and curricula and developing new courses in his/her relevant academic discipline under direct guidance and supervision of · the head of the department or the scientific program.

· Complying with quality assurance standards and procedures for college and university education, as well as providing the necessary data and information for quality assurance requirements.

· Supervising and following up maintenance of laboratory equipment and making necessary arrangements for lab work while providing students with instructional materials needed for lab work.

· Accomplishing the supervisory and administrative tasks assigned to him/her by the department or program and reporting to the head of department or program.

2. Research

· Conducting research in accordance with international publication standards aimed at the development requirements of the GCC countries.

· Taking the initiative in making grant proposals for funding both locally and externally to support research projects and achieve their scientific goals.

Publishing the results of her/his research in refereed scientific journals through scientific · conferences and proper media.

· Seeking to disseminate the results of his/her research in high-ranking international scientific journals in order to build reputation and experience in one of the scientific fields at regional and international levels.

· Participating, where appropriate, with other university and college faculty members in conducting joint research.

· Considering ways of participating in scientific studies and research with academic research institutions and centers locally and regionally.

3. Community Service

· Contribute in the organization of training workshops in his/her scientific specialization through consultation, training and community service center in the university.

· Collaborating with faculty members with higher academic ranks in the department in providing services to local, regional, and international organizations.

· Obtaining professional associations membership in the public/private sector committees.

4. Administrative and Other Activities

Contribute to the administrative responsibilities required to support the efforts of the university, the college, the department or the scientific program.

Qualifications:

· Holds a PhD degree or equivalent in the required scientific specialization with a medical background from one of the universities accredited by higher education institutions of the GCC countries.

· Fulfills the university's requirements for appointment of assistant professor rank.

· Has outstanding experience in teaching and scientific research.

Has distinguished scientific research record (should be no less than 8) published in indexed scientific journals.
