Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator

Responsibilities:
- Training & Development
- Deliver OHS training tailored to underground operations and technical crews
- Develop, update, and customize safety training materials for equipment operators and new starters
- Conduct toolbox talks, refresher sessions, and pre shift briefings in alignment with operational risks
- Operational Safety Monitoring
- Conduct underground safety inspections and behavioral observations in collaboration with supervisors
- Ensure hazard identification and JHA processes are actively implemented and understood by the workforce
- Participate in the review and update of SWIs and other safety documentation
- Emergency Response & Incident Management
- Support coordination of emergency drills and ensure ERT personnel are trained and ready
- Assist in incident investigations including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
- Act as a liaison between departments to ensure timely reporting and closure of incident actions
- Equipment and Compliance Assurance
- Conduct PTO's and validation for underground equipment such as TH663 trucks, IT carriers, and rock breakers
- Verify operational safety readiness of equipment prior to deployment in active headings
- Monitor license and certification compliance of operators for underground mobile plant
- Communication and Cultural Integration
- Provide multilingual support (Arabic English) to bridge communication gaps during training and investigations
- Promote safety culture initiatives through engagement with multicultural workforce segments
- Systems & Reporting
- Maintain accurate training records and OHS documentation in line with company systems
- Support safety data reporting, performance metrics tracking, and close out of audit findings
- Contribute to monthly OHS reports and recommend continuous improvement opportunities
- Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Maintenance, Mining, and Process departments to ensure integrated safety support
- Provide onboarding safety training and orientation to new underground hires and contractors
- Actively support the roll out of safety campaigns and initiatives, including Life Saving Rules and fatigue management
Qualification Requirements:
- Proven experience delivering OHS training in an underground mining setting
- Strong understanding of underground equipment operation, including articulated trucks, IT carriers, and water/service trucks
- Certification in OSHA Safety and Working at Heights
- Valid certifications in underground equipment operations (e.g., TH663, TM 15 XH, McLean AC3, HIAB 095)
Experience and Skills Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to conduct or assist in incident investigations and JHA
- Effective communication skills in Arabic, English, and Indonesian, including translation and interpretation support
- Capability to design and tailor training materials for technically diverse workforces
- Competency in health and safety compliance monitoring in challenging underground environments
- Experience supporting audits or regulatory inspections
- Familiarity with digital training delivery and reporting systems
