Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings
Therapeutic Intervention:
- Implement therapeutic activities aimed at improving patients’ functional abilities and daily living skills.
- Utilize a variety of techniques, including but not limited to, arts and crafts, functional training, and cognitive-behavioral strategies.
Patient and Family Education:
- Educate patients and their families about therapeutic processes and strategies to enhance recovery and quality of life.
- Provide guidance on adaptive equipment and environmental modifications
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Document patient progress and communicate effectively with other healthcare providers.
Professional Development:
- Stay current with advancements in occupational therapy and mental health care through ongoing education and professional development.
- Participate in regular team meetings and case conferences.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Licensure/Certification:
- Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy .
Experience:
- Minimum of two years of experience in a mental health setting preferred.
- Experience with a diverse patient population, including those with severe and persistent mental illness.

- Strong assessment and clinical skills.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
