Position Summary:
BASES is looking for a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), sensory processing challenges, developmental delays, and other disabilities. This role focuses on helping children achieve independence and improve their fine motor, sensory, and daily living skills in both clinical and home settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to determine individual therapy needs.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans focusing on fine motor skills, sensory integration, visual-motor coordination, self-care tasks, and adaptive behavior.
  • Use evidence-based techniques, tools, and interventions to support developmental progress and functional independence.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals to support generalization of skills across settings.
  • Monitor and document progress, maintaining accurate and timely records, session notes, and reports.
  • Provide parent/caregiver training and education to support carryover of strategies at home.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to individualized education or therapy plans.
  • Stay current with best practices in pediatric occupational therapy through ongoing professional development.
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that supports each child’s unique needs.

Qualifications:

  • degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience working with children with developmental disabilities, including ASD.
  • Strong understanding of sensory processing, motor development, and pediatric assessment tools.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Compassionate, creative, and committed to making a difference in children’s lives.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
