Overview:

The Ocean Freight Associate Analyst is responsible for coordinating and managing end-to-end ocean freight operations to ensure the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods across EMEA. This role oversees key Incoterms processes (DPP, FOB, Ex Works), port operations, container availability, and vendor interactions, while maintaining strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.


This position collaborates closely with GCC teams and sending Business Units to ensure seamless execution of import, export, and shipping activities.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

Ocean Freight Operations

  • Coordinate full ocean freight forwarding processes, including booking, tracking, receiving, and documentation.
  • Oversee DPP shipments, ensuring on-time delivery, customs clearance, and duty requirements.
  • Manage FOB and Ex Works shipments with suppliers, carriers, and logistics providers.
  • Monitor port operations and ensure the availability of containers, cranes, and necessary equipment.
  • Maintain accurate container management, including tracking, utilization, and inventory control.

Compliance & Vendor Management

  • Ensure adherence to global import/export regulations, trade requirements, and internal policies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with ocean freight vendors.
  • Partner with Global Procurement on contract negotiations, tender processes, and performance evaluations.

Cost & Performance Management

  • Monitor and analyze shipping-related costs to identify efficiency opportunities.
  • Partner with R2P to provide visibility into cost trends and develop actionable insights to optimize spend.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports on performance metrics, shipping activities, and cost analysis.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve ocean freight processes and enhance service quality.
  • Work with the Import & Export Center of Excellence on simplification and standardization initiatives.
  • Support digital enhancement initiatives, including the use and improvement of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other logistics platforms.
Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required, with the ability to communicate confidently with international partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in ocean freight operations, international logistics, or import/export.
  • Strong knowledge of Incoterms (DPP, FOB, Ex Works) and ocean shipping processes.
  • Experience with import/export documentation and trade compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with TMS (Transportation Management Systems) and logistics platforms is strongly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management abilities across global teams.
