JOB DESCRIPTION – OFFICE ASSISTANT
The Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily administrative operations of the company while supporting project managers, field staff, vendors, and customers. This position serves as the central point of communication for the office and is responsible for office administration, marketing, human resources support, fleet and facility coordination, safety administration, and general operational support. The Office Manager reports directly to the Owner(s) and works closely with the Project Managers to ensure efficient day-to-day operations. Qualified candidates will have previous office management or administrative experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Office Administration
- Answer incoming phone calls and distribute messages to the appropriate team members.
- Receive, monitor, and respond to website inquiries and customer leads.
- Greet customers, vendors, subcontractors, and visitors in a professional manner.
- Maintain organized office filing systems, both electronic and paper.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and shipping.
- Order and maintain office supplies and equipment.
- Assist Project Managers and company leadership with administrative tasks as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and complete administrative reports as assigned.
Marketing
- Manage and update company social media accounts.
- Coordinate website updates and ensure online information is current and accurate.
- Assist with marketing initiatives, company events, and promotional materials.
- Monitor website inquiries and ensure timely follow-up.
Human Resources
- Assist with employee onboarding and new hire paperwork.
- Maintain employee personnel files and HR documentation.
- Coordinate employee insurance enrollment and benefits administration.
- Assist with maintaining compliance with employment-related documentation and company policies.
- Support recruiting efforts and employment documentation as needed.
Fleet & Facility Management
- Monitor office and shop facilities to ensure they remain clean, organized, and properly maintained.
- Coordinate facility maintenance and repairs with vendors and service providers.
Purchasing & Inventory
- Receive deliveries and verify shipments.
- Coordinate returns with suppliers and vendors.
- Purchase and pick up materials, supplies, and miscellaneous items needed for construction projects.
- Maintain inventory of office supplies, shop supplies, and truck supplies.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative Support
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with Owners, Project Managers, field employees, vendors, and clients.
- Assist with scheduling, special projects, and company initiatives.
- Support daily office operations to ensure efficient workflow throughout the organization.
Other
- Maintain the T Hurt Construction experience by keeping a positive attitude and professional conduct at all times.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with employees, customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and business partners.
- Demonstrate open, honest, and timely communication.
- Resolve conflicts professionally while maintaining positive working relationships.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Previous Office Management, Administrative, or Construction Office experience preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with social media management and website updates preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving insurance standards.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
COMPENSATION
Compensation will be established based on work experience, education, and training completed.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The workday begins at 8:00 a.m. at our shop on N 85th Street; Monday, Wednesday, and possibly Friday’s.
Working conditions primarily consist of an office environment with frequent interaction with the shop and construction field operations. This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift to 30 pounds, and occasionally travel locally to pick up materials, make deliveries, or visit vendors. Frequent interruptions and changing priorities are expected while supporting the daily operations of the company.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
