Job Description – Barge Doctor (Offshore)
Position: Barge Doctor MBBS
Location: Offshore Barge

Reports To: Barge Master / Offshore Medical Coordinator
Role Overview:
The Barge Doctor will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care and emergency response to all personnel onboard the barge.
Offshore (Barge/Rig/Vessel) medical experience is compulsory. Applications without prior offshore experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 24/7 primary healthcare and emergency medical support onboard the barge.
- Manage trauma, accidents, occupational illnesses, and critical care cases until evacuation.
- Ensure availability and compliance of the medical chest, medicines, and emergency equipment as per offshore/flag regulations.
- Conduct routine health checks and consultations for crew and personnel.
- Maintain confidential medical records and health reports for the company.
- Support HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) compliance by participating in drills and emergency preparedness exercises.
- Provide health awareness, hygiene, and preventive healthcare guidance to onboard staff.
- Ensure proper bio-medical waste management as per offshore guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements (Mandatory):
- MBBS/MD degree with valid medical registration/license.
- Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience (general practice, trauma, or emergency medicine).
- Minimum 1–2 years of offshore medical experience on Barge / Rig / Vessel – COMPULSORY
- Valid OGUK / PEME medical fitness certificate.
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and ITLS/ATLS (mandatory).
- Strong ability to work independently in remote offshore environments.
