Position Description

Enlightium Academy, a premier K-12 private Christian virtual school, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Secondary English Teacher for our Sapphire Live Program. Sapphire Live brings the traditional private school experience to the digital realm, offering fully online learning via the Canvas educational platform. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape young minds in a virtual, synchronous learning environment, similar to a traditional classroom but entirely online. Ideal for candidates with experience in virtual teaching, this position focuses on delivering interactive, small-group instruction to students.


Salary

While the compensation for this position depends on the candidate’s experience and qualifications, the approximate salary range is $20 to $22 per hour on start.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver dynamic and engaging live instruction to secondary school students in English, using platforms like Zoom.
  • Foster a positive, interactive online community to encourage student participation and engagement.
  • Effectively utilize Google Classroom, Canvas, and other web applications for lesson adaptation, posting recordings, and enhancing student interaction.
  • Maintain the educational environment by adhering to the provided curriculum and managing timelines.
  • Develop positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, upholding appropriate boundaries and reflecting our family-like culture.
  • Seek and integrate additional teaching materials to enrich the learning experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Experience in teaching, preferably in a virtual setting.
  • Strong technical skills, including the ability to use a personal computer effectively.
  • ACSI certification is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and rapport-building abilities.
  • A strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Hours

  • Fixed work hours aligned with the standard school day., M-F.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Language Arts, Education, etc.).
  • At least two years of teaching experience, preferably in biblical or theological subjects.
  • Strong technical proficiency, comfortable navigating digital tools and platforms.
  • Excellent typing speed and accuracy (45+ WPM).
  • Proven ability to build rapport with students and parents in in-person and in a virtual setting.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, online environment.
  • A passion for student success and a sincere desire to make a positive impact on their spiritual and academic growth.


Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and educate students in a synchronous, digital environment.
  • Initiate an engaging dialogue with students.
  • Adhere to the established curriculum and timeline.
  • Develop or locate additional teaching material when needed.
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, peers, and supervisors.
  • Maintain cordial relationships with students within appropriate boundaries


The pay range for this role is:

20 - 22 USD per hour(USA)
