Designation : Operation Theater Nurse
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Operative Care:
- Prepare patients for surgery by ensuring all pre-surgical protocols are followed.
- Verify patient identity and confirm surgical site marking.
- Check the availability and sterilization of surgical instruments, gowns, and equipment.
- Intra-Operative Assistance:
- Assist surgeons and anesthetists during the surgical procedure by handing over instruments.
- Monitor the patient's vital signs and maintain accurate documentation.
- Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Manage the surgical team’s needs, including instrument changes or repositioning of equipment.
- Post-Operative Care:
- Assist in the safe transfer of patients from the OT to the recovery room.
- Monitor patient conditions immediately post-operation and report any abnormalities.
- Ensure the correct disposal of used materials and proper cleaning of the OT after procedures.
- Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of procedures and instruments used.
- Prepare OT utilization and surgical reports as required.
- Team Coordination:
- Collaborate with the surgical team, anesthetists, and other healthcare staff.
- Participate in regular team briefings, debriefings, and quality improvement meetings.
- Assist in training new staff and junior nurses in OT protocols.
- Infection Control and Safety Protocols:
- Strictly follow hospital infection control policies and procedures.
- Ensure the safe disposal of medical waste and used instruments.
- Regularly check the functionality of equipment and escalate any maintenance issues.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Education: B.Sc. Nursing / GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery) from a recognized institute.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience as an OT Nurse, preferably in a multi-specialty hospital.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (preferred).
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of surgical procedures and instruments.
- Strong understanding of infection control and OT protocols.
- Good communication, organizational, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to stay calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
