Operations Accountant

Job Summary

The Operations Accountant is responsible for accounting and auditing functions related to UFP's legal entities and supporting the Accounting team with its daily responsibilities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acts as a resource for individual legal entities regarding proper accounting procedures

  • Prepares and enters journal entries, maintains stored/recurring entries, establishes branch-structured entries

  • Maintains balance sheet account reconciliations and coordinates corrections

  • Prepares various accounting analysis spreadsheets

  • Oversees the closing of the modules, balances inter-company accounts, monitors accrual balances for reasonableness, and performs various other month-end closing duties

  • Research problems related to improper account usage, computer bugs, and improper procedures

  • Identifies/cultivates efficiencies in accounting processes

  • Implements new processes, as necessary

  • Develops ad-hoc reports and analyses for management

  • Complete yearend closing and audit requirements

  • Performs other duties as required


Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Arts in accounting, finance, or another business major (related experience with a degree in another field is also acceptable)

  • CPA preferred with 2 to 4 years of experience in public accounting

  • International Accounting experience preferred

  • Working knowledge and understanding of accounting and finance practices

  • Working knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer and business-related software, including Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook are required)
