Overview
Founded in 1947 by Nina Vance, the Alley Theatre is a pioneer of regional theatre, and one of the leading nonprofit theatre companies in the United States. The Alley has been awarded the prestigious Regional Theatre Tony Award® and the Texas Medal of Arts Award. The Alley has transferred productions to Broadway, Off-Broadway, major European Festivals, and to 40 American cities. Rob Melrose, Artistic Director at the Alley, took over as artistic leader of the organization in 2019. His vision for the future of the Alley is both thrilling and ambitious. JOB STATEMENT
The Operations Assistant works closely with all departments handling the day-to-day operations of the Alley Theatre. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.
Job Duties

Complete and submit necessary supply orders including but not limited to office, operational, coffee bar, kitchen, first aid and cleaning supplies.

Process orders and receipts accurately and efficiently.

Assist the Director of Operations with maintaining housekeeping schedules and special instructions.

Assist the Director of Operations with monitoring and maintaining the Alley’s security camera system.

Maintain and track company fleet vehicles as necessary.

Manage office supply memberships including but not limited to Amazon, Sam’s Club, and Staples.

Assist the Director of Operations with the organization and cleanliness of the Alley kitchens, office services areas, mail room, Archive, and storage facilities for organization.

Process and sort mail and handle shipping and receiving when required.

Order and maintain office furniture as necessary.

Assist the Operations Manager with internal and external events.

Cover for Receptionist when necessary.

Complete other tasks and projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS (SKILLS And KNOWLEDGE)

Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in written form

Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

Strong organizational skills

Commitment to an equitable, anti-racist work environment

A demonstrated ability to meet deadlines under pressure

Theatrical production experience a plus, but not required

Proficiency in Spanish language preferred
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Ability to lift and move 50 lbs. routinely.

Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where directions and priorities can change rapidly.

Typical hours are during the day, but the position requires the flexibility to be available for weekend, holidays and evening work hours as needed.
