Job Description: Operations & Cost Accountant1. Job Purpose
The Operations & Cost Accountant is a pivotal role designed to ensure the financial integrity and efficiency of the company’s daily operations. This position oversees three critical pillars: (1) The Procurement-to-Pay cycle, (2) Payroll & Benefits Administration, and (3) Cost Accounting & Analysis. The primary objective is to maintain rigorous internal controls, optimize operational spending, and provide accurate financial data to support strategic decision-making.
2. Key Responsibilities
A) Procurement & Payables Management:
- Manage the full procurement-to-pay cycle, ensuring a 3-way match between Purchase Orders (POs), invoices, and Goods Received Notes (GRNs).
- Perform regular reconciliations of vendor statements and manage aged payables to optimize cash flow.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to evaluate vendor performance and negotiate better payment terms.
B) Payroll & Compensation Management:
- Execute accurate monthly payroll processing, including the calculation of overtime, deductions, bonuses, and social insurance contributions.
- Manage employee end-of-service benefits (EOSB) and final settlements in compliance with local labor laws.
- Coordinate with Human Resources to audit attendance records and ensure seamless financial integration of payroll data.
C) Cost Accounting & Inventory Control:
- Analyze production or service costs to determine precise unit costs and overhead allocation.
- Perform Variance Analysis (Standard vs. Actual costs) and provide actionable reports to management on cost-saving opportunities.
- Oversee periodic physical inventory counts, reconcile variances, and identify slow-moving or obsolete stock.
D) Financial Reporting & Internal Audit:
- Prepare monthly operational expenditure (OPEX) reports and labor cost analysis.
- Enforce internal control policies to mitigate financial leakage, fraud, or errors in operational spending.
3. Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Professional certifications (e.g., CMA, ACCA, or SOCPA) are highly preferred.
- Experience: 5–7 years of progressive experience, with at least 3 years in an operational environment (Manufacturing, F&B, or Retail).
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or Microsoft Dynamics) and expert-level MS Excel skills.

- Cost Variance Margin: Keeping the gap between actual and budgeted costs within a +/- 3% range.
- Reporting Cycle Time: Delivering month-end operational reports within [X] business days of the closing.
