We are looking for an experienced and results-oriented Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our cake manufacturing and distribution unit. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient production processes, maintain high-quality standards, optimize inventory and logistics, and lead a team to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Production & Quality Management:

  • Oversee the entire cake production process, ensuring timely and efficient manufacturing.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene in compliance with regulatory requirements (FSSAI or local food safety standards).
  • Implement production planning, scheduling, and process optimization to maximize output and minimize wastage.

Inventory & Supply Chain Management:

  • Manage raw material procurement, storage, and inventory control to avoid shortages or excess.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of quality ingredients and packaging materials.
  • Monitor distribution processes to ensure on-time delivery to retail outlets, customers, and distributors.

Team Leadership & Training:

  • Lead, motivate, and manage the production, packaging, and distribution teams.
  • Conduct training sessions to ensure staff adherence to SOPs, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and implement performance improvement plans when necessary.

Process Improvement & Cost Management:

  • Identify areas for operational improvement and implement efficient production techniques.
  • Control operational costs while maintaining product quality.
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) across production and distribution.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Prepare and present regular operational reports to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food industry regulations.
  • Manage audits and inspections as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Production Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in food manufacturing, preferably bakery or confectionery.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and distribution logistics.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in ERP/production management software is a plus.
