Position Objective:
The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and management of all operational activities across fabrication and erection works (Such as piping, Pressure vessels, Tanks, Offshore skid packages and structural). The role ensures projects are executed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with client specifications, company policies, and regulatory standards. This position also drives continuous improvement, team development, and operational excellence across all workshops and project sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations across complete operational activities of the company
- Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with company objectives.
- Plan, organize, and manage resources (manpower, equipment, materials) for optimal utilization and productivity.
- Ensure production schedules, work plans, and project timelines are executed efficiently.
- Coordinate with Project Controls, Production, QA/QC, HSE, procurement, and client representatives to ensure seamless operations.
- Monitor and report operational KPIs, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, labor laws, environmental policies, and client-specific requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop departmental managers, supervisors, and team leaders to enhance workforce efficiency and engagement.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives, Lean practices, and operational excellence programs.
- Conduct regular site visits and workshops to assess operational performance and adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on operational performance, challenges, risks, and improvement plans for senior management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 15-20 years of experience in steel fabrication, oil & gas, construction, or industrial maintenance, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong expertise in fabrication & erection processes, machining operations, maintenance practices, and industrial production.
- Proven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making capabilities.
- Experience with ERP systems, production planning tools, and operational KPIs.
- Knowledge of international codes and standards relevant to steel fabrication and industrial maintenance.
- Project experience with QE, ARAMCO, ADNOC or KOC is mandatory
