The role of an Operations Manager / MEP Engineer in a retail textile store combines general retail operations management with specialized expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. The successful candidate ensures the store runs efficiently, safely, and profitably, while also managing the design, maintenance, and compliance of all building systems.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Operations Management:
Oversee Daily Operations: Ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day store functions, including opening/closing procedures, customer flow, and general maintenance.
Staff Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor store staff and technical teams, ensuring high performance and adherence to company policies and safety guidelines.
Customer Experience: Implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction, address complaints, and ensure a high standard of service is consistently delivered.
Financial Management: Manage operational budgets, monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and analyze performance metrics to drive profitability.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure the store complies with all local, state, and federal health, safety (OSHA), and environmental regulations, including fire safety systems and waste management laws.
MEP Systems Management:
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Develop and administer preventative maintenance and inspection programs for all MEP assets (lighting, power supply, plumbing, fire alarms, etc.) to ensure minimum downtime.
Quality Control & Standards: Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks of MEP installations, ensuring all work meets industry standards and approved specifications.
Energy Management & Sustainability: Recommend and implement energy-efficient and cost-effective systems and sustainable practices to reduce operational costs and the store's environmental impact.
Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships and negotiate contracts with third-party consultants, MEP contractors, and suppliers, monitoring their performance and ensuring timely delivery of services.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records, technical documentation, as-built drawings, and reports related to MEP installations, maintenance schedules, and compliance activities.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience in retail operations and/or MEP project management, preferably in a multi-site or fast-paced environment.
Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge , electrical power systems, lighting, and plumbing.
Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, analytical, and time management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and adapt to a dynamic retail environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
