Job Purpose:

To oversee, manage, and optimize the daily operations of the company’s containerized fleet (40 ft trailers) across Pakistan. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring timely dispatch, route efficiency, cost control, driver management, fleet maintenance, and customer satisfaction while maintaining high safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Fleet Operations Management

Plan, organize, and monitor daily fleet movements for 40 ft container transportation nationwide.

Assign trailers, drivers, and routes according to operational requirements and shipment schedules.

Ensure all dispatches and deliveries are executed on time and within budget.

Monitor live fleet tracking (via GPS/Telematics) and handle route deviations or emergencies.

Coordinate with clients, port authorities, shipping lines, and warehouses for smooth cargo movement.

2. Fleet Maintenance & Technical Oversight

Ensure all trailers, prime movers, and equipment are in good operational condition.

Plan preventive and corrective maintenance schedules in coordination with the workshop team.

Maintain vehicle documentation (fitness, route permits, insurance, registration).

Monitor fuel usage, mileage, and maintenance costs to minimize operational losses.

3. Staff & Driver Management

Supervise fleet supervisors, dispatchers, and drivers.

Manage driver schedules, duty rosters, and trip assignments.

Conduct driver performance evaluations and safety training sessions.

Enforce company policies on driving behavior, rest periods, and vehicle handling.

4. Operations Control & Monitoring

Implement and maintain operational SOPs for dispatch, delivery, and reporting.

Oversee documentation of trip sheets, delivery notes, fuel slips, and expense claims.

Manage port operations, container lifting/unloading activities, and return logistics.

Maintain a dashboard for trip performance, downtime, and delay analysis.

5. Client Coordination & Service Delivery

Serve as the main operational contact for customers regarding dispatches and updates.

Ensure high standards of customer service and quick problem resolution.

Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, vehicle utilization, and cost per trip.

6. Financial & Cost Management

Prepare operational budgets and control transportation costs.

Review trip profitability, fuel consumption, and driver allowances.

Approve vendor bills related to fuel, maintenance, and tolls after verification.

7. Compliance, Safety & Legal

Ensure compliance with road transport laws, port regulations, and internal safety standards.

Implement safety programs for drivers, loaders, and support staff.

Investigate accidents, incidents, and vehicle breakdowns and ensure preventive measures.

8. Reporting & Continuous Improvement

Generate daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.

Analyze operational inefficiencies and implement improvement measures.

Support management in developing new business routes and fleet expansion planning.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transport Management, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of experience in fleet operations, preferably in container transport or logistics.

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of 40 ft container operations and trucking logistics.

Hands-on experience with fleet tracking and transport management systems (TMS).

Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and reporting tools.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs150,000.00 - Rs300,000.00 per month
