This position performs skilled technical and administrative work in a wide variety of functions in support the efficient operations of the assigned department; does related work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of a department supervisor.
Essential Functions
Work will be specialized according to the assigned department. The following essential job functions are representative of the type of tasks that may be performed on a daily basis:

Provides administrative support, including data entry, filing, and responding to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

Assists in the preparation of reports, presentations, correspondence, and other communication materials related to departmental activities.

Collaborates with team members to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements.

Interacts with customers, contractors, vendors, and citizens, answering questions, and resolving issues.

Operates standard office, personal computer, and related equipment.
-
Assists with project management activities, including scheduling, budget tracking, and resource allocation.

Develops and maintains databases and spreadsheets to track and analyze data.

Reviews a variety of data for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to established standards and policies.

Analyzes operational data and generates reports to support decision-making and performance monitoring.

Coordinates work orders and service requests, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.

Operates radio dispatching and follows up on work order status as assigned.

Provides technical support and assistance to field personnel as assigned.

Performs related tasks as required.
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent, and three years of experience in office work and using Microsoft Office applications. Supplemental courses in computer applications, business administration, or accounting are preferred and may substitute for one year of experience.

This position is part of the Qualification Advancement Program. To advance to Operations Support Specialist II, an employee must complete two years of service as an Operations Support Specialist I and demonstrate proficiency in all essential functions of that role.
Physical Demands
The work is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The work requires mental acuity including the ability to make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

Hearing: Required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.

Manual Dexterity: Picking, pinching, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
