Your Specific Responsibilities:
This is a professional position requiring skills in project management, contract management, and technical assistance activities related to public health dentistry. This position works in the Public Health Dental Program and serves as the Oral Health Services Analyst and works under the direct supervision of the Program Administrator.
This position assists in routine operation and special initiatives of the Public Health Dental Program as assigned, including, but not limited to, participation in meetings, preparation and delivery of presentations, development of surveys, researching data and other information. Assists in implementing strategies related to the strategic planning and the State Health Improvement Plan; works collaboratively with external and internal partners to include, but not limited to, academic institutions, professional organizations, community groups, and county health departments (CHDs).
Providing technical assistance to users of the Florida’s Linked Oral Status System (FLOSS) including but not limited to, adding users, managing CHD profiles, and running reports.
Develops and manages (including but not limited to amendments and expenditure reconciliations) contracts, agreements, and purchase orders as assigned. Seeks grant opportunities, prepares, develops and submits reports as needed.
This position serves as a contract manager for legislative, grant, and programmatic contracts.
Acts as a liaison to the county health departments on projects related to data, school-based sealant, and programs. Monitor county health department expenditures and communicates with the CHDs on expenditure usage and reporting. Provides technical assistance, administrative, and quality assurance guidance to county health departments.
Assists with planning and implementing the Statewide Dental Director Performance and Management meeting, purchasing supplies, and organizing the event.
Other duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of dental public health desired. Communication, organizational, social perception, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of methods of compiling and organizing information. Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques; apply public health concepts and principles to research related activities in order to identify determinants and risk factors for oral health outcomes in Florida; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; compile, organize, and interpret data in a logical format, in text and graphic form for state and federal reports, grant submissions, presentations at meetings, seminars and conferences, and publications; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Skilled at interpretation of data. Knowledgeable and proficient with use of computers, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Qualifications:
Contract manager experience preferred. Incumbent must be willing to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent may include working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural. The incumbent may have access to records containing social security number in the performance of job duties.
