Responsibilities

  • Transcribe detailed clinical notes during patient visits, capturing vital signs, symptoms, diagnoses, and treatment plans with precision.
  • Manage and update electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring all patient information is accurate, complete, and compliant with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist healthcare providers by preparing documentation ahead of appointments and following up on pending test results or referrals.
  • Maintain strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies and HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient privacy at all times.
  • Support medical office operations by organizing medical records, verifying patient information, and managing documentation workflows.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy to accurately interpret provider notes and patient data.
  • Collaborate effectively with clinical staff to ensure seamless communication and accurate recordkeeping during busy clinic hours.

Skills

  • Proven experience in medical transcription or medical documentation within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR management tools.
  • Excellent typing skills with high accuracy and speed to keep pace with fast-moving clinical environments.
  • Familiarity with medical office procedures, clinical confidentiality policies, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply medical terminology related to physiology, anatomy, and various specialties such as emergency medicine or primary care.
  • Exceptional written communication skills for clear, concise documentation that supports quality patient care.
  • Prior experience in emergency room settings or fast-paced clinics is highly desirable for this role.
