As an Optometric Technician, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing excellent customer service and support to our patients. No prior experience in the eye care industry is required as we will provide training for this position. The Optometric Technician assists the Optometrist with medical and vision exams which includes a variety of patient care tasks including:

• Performing and documenting preliminary patient testing.
• Completes proper coding and documentation of patient procedures/exams.
• Instructs patients on medical care as prescribed by the doctors.
• Records and maintains patient records.
• Responds to patients' telephone inquiries regarding medication, treatment, contact lenses, referring to doctors as necessary.
• Training patients on insertion, removal and care of contact lenses.
• Ordering patient contact lens for office and patients.
• Various office duties.
• Provide exceptional patient care and support

Required Skills:

• Ability to perform pre-testing and visual acuity measurements
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills
• Strong customer service and or patient care skills

Nice to Have Skills:

• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
• Previous experience with electronic medical records
• Background in medical assisting
• Experience in eyecare or optometry field
• Proficiency in scheduling appointments and managing patient records

Candidate must be able to work Monday - Wednesday 7:15 am - 4:45 pm, Thursday 8:45 am - 6:15 pm and Friday 7:30 am - 1:15 pm. No weekend or evening hours are required. We have an excellent staff and are looking for an outstanding person to complete it.
