Optometric Technician

Duties

• Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with the intake process to ensure accurate medical records.
• Prepare patients for examinations by performing preliminary tests including auto refraction, non-contact tonometry, lensometry, taking retinal photography, visual field testing, and Optical coherence tomography (OCT)
• Support the clinical team by managing electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Educate patients on eye health, medication instructions, and proper use of contact lenses or glasses.

Requirements

• Prior experience in medical office settings or optometry clinics is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Experience with intake procedures and medical records management.
• Ability to demonstrate aseptic technique during clinical procedures and maintain a clean environment.
• Proficiency in using EMR systems
• Excellent communication skills combined with retail sales experience to support front desk duties and patient interactions.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
