The Division:
Constellation Kidney Group
formed in 2018 by the combination of QMS, Infian, Clinical Computing, and Mediqal Health Informatics as part of
Constellation Software
, a publicly traded multinational from Toronto, Canada. The companies of the Constellation Kidney Group have a long history dating as far back as 1976 of providing specialized software for the renal care market designed to improve patient outcomes and management efficiencies.
The position
CKG is looking for an Oracle DBA who will be primarily responsible for the maintenance and performance of databases, to ensure the availability and optimal performance. This includes implementing a failsafe backup strategy, maintaining existing replication and coming up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.
The successful hire will be located and work out of the Contour Software Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad office, working as part of the resource-center team, as an extension of the division-based Onshore IT department.
Key Responsibilities:

Installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle database software and related tools.

Working with developers to design and implement new database features and structures.
-
Monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing database settings for optimal performance.

Developing and implementing backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and recoverability in case of failures.
-
Implementing security measures, managing user access, and ensuring compliance with security policies.
-
Performing database upgrades, applying patches, and maintaining the database environment.
-
Investigating and resolving database-related issues, including performance problems and security breaches.
-
Monitoring database health, performance, and security, and setting up alerts for critical issues.

Documenting database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Planning for future database growth and capacity needs.

Collaborating with developers to optimize database usage and performance.
Required Skills:

Strong understanding of Oracle database concepts, architecture, and administration.

Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.

Experience with Oracle's backup and recovery tools (RMAN), DB Dumps, Oracle Always On and Oracle Data Guard.

Knowledge of database security best practices.

Experience with performance monitoring and tuning tools.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Additional Desirable Skills:

Experience with Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) and Oracle Golden Gate .

Experience with cloud-based Oracle databases (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).

Knowledge of other database technologies (e.g., NoSQL databases).

Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Shell scripting, Python.
