Position Overview
The Organic Media Specialist is a highly creative, analytically minded digital storyteller who leads the development and execution of organic marketing strategies across multiple platforms. This role blends trend forecasting, social media management, PR and communication strategies, copywriting excellence, and data-driven optimization to grow brand visibility, deepen audience engagement, and strengthen community relationships. The Organic Media Specialist drives continuous improvement through rigorous performance analysis, leveraging insights to guide content direction, channel priorities, and campaign planning.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Copywriting

Write high-quality, on-brand copy for social channels, blogs, emails, newsletters, and digital campaigns.

Craft compelling copy concepts, hooks, and captions optimized for each platform’s algorithm.

Manage press releases, media communications, and online reputation efforts—including review responses and community sentiment monitoring.

Maintain editorial calendars and content pipelines that balance consistency with agility.
Social Media Strategy & Execution

Develop platform-specific organic growth strategies for clients and internal brands, focused on engagement, audience development, and long-term brand equity.

Plan, write, schedule, and publish daily content across major platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, X/Twitter, YouTube, etc.).

Manage real-time channel activity: engage audiences, respond to comments/messages, moderate communities, and maintain brand voice across all touchpoints.

Monitor and react to emerging platform features, cultural moments, and digital trends to ensure brands remain timely and competitive.
PR & Communication Strategies

Develop and execute PR initiatives that support clients’ brand visibility, credibility, and community impact.

Write, edit, and distribute press releases using PR Newswire and Cision; track media placements and performance outcomes.

Maintain relationships with local and regional media outlets, identifying opportunities for earned media coverage.

Support brand reputation efforts through proactive messaging, narrative development, and coordinated communication strategies.

Manage online reputation through review responses, sentiment monitoring, and escalation handling when needed.

Ensure all communications—public statements, press materials, social messaging, and thought leadership—are aligned with brand voice and strategic objectives.
Email Marketing & Drip Campaigns

End-to-end creation and execution of email marketing campaigns, including newsletters, product announcements, and seasonal promotions.

Build, monitor, and optimize automated workflows (e.g., Welcome Series, Abandoned Cart, Re-engagement).

Maintain database hygiene and utilize behavioral data to create hyper-targeted customer segments.

Track KPIs (Open Rate, CTR, Conversion Rate) and conduct regular A/B testing on subject lines and content to continuously improve results.

Ensure all email activities follow GDPR and CAN-SPAM regulations as well as HIPAA.

Proficiency in email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact, Mailchimp).

Strong copywriting skills tailored to email mediums

Analytics, Optimization & Data-Driven Decision Making

Track and analyze organic performance metrics across platforms, including engagement rates, impressions, audience growth, retention, and content-level performance.

Develop clear, concise performance reports with insights, trends, and recommended actions.

Use data to inform content priorities, posting cadence, audience targeting, message testing, and trend alignment.

Conduct competitive benchmarking and social listening to identify strategic opportunities and threats.
Collaboration & Support

Work closely with the Director of Communications & Analytics to align organic insights with brand strategy and organizational goals.

Partner with the Brand Impact and Client Success teams to ensure content supports broader marketing, PR, and campaign initiatives.

Provide consultative support to clients regarding organic best practices, channel positioning, and audience engagement strategies.

Collaborate with creative, paid media, development, or operations teams to ensure integrated, seamless storytelling across all channels.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.

4–6+ years of experience in social media management, organic content strategy, or digital marketing roles.

Demonstrated ability to grow online communities and drive measurable organic performance.

Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a portfolio showcasing diverse content formats.

Proficiency with social media scheduling, listening, and analytics tools (e.g., Sprout, Hootsuite, Later, Meta Insights, Google Analytics, etc.).

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple brands, timelines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
