Ornamental Ironworker

Job Overview
We welcome you to Join our team as an Ornamental Ironworker! In this vital role, you will be responsible for guard rail installation, including cable and glass handrail. Basic understanding of blueprint reading is a plus. Ensuring each piece meets safety standards and aesthetic expectations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, utilizing advanced welding techniques and precise fabrication skills to create durable structures. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will contribute to delivering exceptional craftsmanship on every project.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide fabrication and installation processes.
  • Cut, shape, weld, and assemble ornamental iron components by using welding techniques to meet project specifications.
  • Operate power tools, hand tools, and sheet metal equipment for precise fabrication tasks.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure accurate dimensions and quality control of all metal components.
  • Set up and operate cranes, forklifts, rigging equipment, and boom lifts
  • Install fabricated ironwork on construction sites with attention to safety protocols and structural integrity.
  • Maintain detailed records of work progress, inspections, and safety checks throughout each project phase.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot fabrication issues and optimize workflow efficiency.
  • Adhere strictly to safety guidelines while working with power tools, machinery, and at heights using rigging techniques.

Experience

  • Proven construction site experience with a focus on ornamental or structural ironwork.
  • AWS D1.1 Welding Certification is a plus or familiar with welding
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading, and basic math for measurements and calculations.
  • Experience operating cranes, forklifts, boom lifts and other fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to use hand tools effectively for assembly and finishing tasks.

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
