Summer is right around the corner, and we’re growing! Dr. Koterwas Orthodontics in California, and Prince Frederick, MD is looking to welcome a motivated, positive Orthodontic Assistant to our close-knit team. Full-time and part-time positions are available.

What You’ll Do

As an Orthodontic Assistant, you’ll play a key role in creating confident, spectacular smiles while ensuring every patient feels comfortable and cared for.

Your day may include:

• Assisting the orthodontist with braces adjustments, wire changes, appliance fittings, scanning, photos, and more
• Preparing treatment areas and setting up instruments and materials
• Taking dental x-rays (per state guidelines)
• Sterilizing and maintaining instruments and equipment
• Educating patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care
• Maintaining accurate patient records and treatment notes
• Scheduling appointments and managing the clinic calendar
• Supporting front desk tasks like answering phones and assisting with billing/insurance
• Monitoring inventory and ordering supplies
• Providing exceptional, compassionate customer service
• Staying current with orthodontic advancements and continuing education

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Dental Assisting program preferred)
• Experience as a dental assistant (orthodontic experience a plus!)
• CDA or COA certification preferred
• X-ray certification (per California requirements)
• Comfortable with dental software and computer systems
• Flexible with scheduling (some evenings/weekends as needed)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
