Orthodontic Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic orthodontic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth operations within the orthodontic practice. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and documentation, along with the ability to work effectively with both children and adults in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a comfortable experience for patients.
  • Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and equipment.
  • Take X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Document patient information accurately in accordance with medical and dental terminology standards.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
  • Manage patient records using orthodontic software systems.
  • Schedule appointments and assist with front desk duties as required, including answering phones and managing patient inquiries.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow within the practice.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an orthodontic assistant or in a similar dental role is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of pediatrics, prosthodontics, dental imaging, and dental terminology is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in dental documentation practices and familiarity with dental receptionist duties is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Orthodontics: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • RDA (Required)
