OT Incharge – Roles and Responsibilities

Overview:
The OT (Operation Theatre) Incharge is responsible for overseeing the efficient and safe functioning of the operation theatre. They ensure that all surgical procedures are carried out with high standards of care, hygiene, and patient safety, while also managing the OT team and coordinating with other hospital departments.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • OT Management
  • Supervise and manage the daily operations of the operation theatre.
  • Ensure proper scheduling of surgeries and availability of equipment, supplies, and staff.
  • Infection Control and Hygiene
  • Maintain strict sterilization protocols and hygiene standards in the OT.
  • Monitor and implement infection control policies and procedures.
  • Team Leadership
  • Lead, train, and mentor OT staff including nurses, technicians, and support personnel.
  • Assign tasks and ensure optimal workforce utilization.
  • Equipment and Inventory Management
  • Ensure that all surgical instruments and equipment are available, functional, and maintained.
  • Oversee the procurement, inventory, and storage of surgical supplies.
  • Coordination and Communication
  • Work closely with surgeons, anesthetists, nursing staff, and other departments.
  • Ensure effective communication during surgical procedures and handle any emergencies.
  • Compliance and Documentation
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures, equipment usage, and inventory logs.
  • Patient Safety and Care
  • Ensure patient safety during surgical procedures.
  • Provide support and reassurance to patients and families regarding OT protocols and procedures.
  • Quality Improvement
  • Conduct audits, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  • Stay updated on the latest surgical practices and technologies.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in nursing, medical technology, or related field.
  • Experience in surgical or operation theatre management.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and coordination abilities.
  • Knowledge of sterilization, infection control, and healthcare protocols.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
