Job roles & responsibilities

• Assisting surgeons, interventional radiologists, and nurse practitioners during procedures
• Preparing the operating room table, tools, and equipment prior to surgery
• Ensuring sterility and safety is maintained before, during, and after the procedure
• Providing emotional support to patients and their family members throughout their hospitalization
• Collaborating with the circulating nurse in monitoring vitals, assessing skin integrity, and communicating with family members throughout the perioperative period
• Documenting surgical details in the patient’s electronic health record (EHR)
• Performing postoperative needle, sponge, and instrument counts
