OT Technician

Job Title: Laboratory TechnicianJob Summary:

A Lab Technician supports scientific investigations by conducting routine tests, collecting and analyzing samples, recording data, and maintaining laboratory equipment. They work in various fields such as medical labs, research facilities, chemical labs, food and beverage, or environmental science.

Core Responsibilities:1. Sample Collection and Preparation

• Collect blood, tissue, water, soil, or chemical samples depending on the field.
• Label and store specimens properly.
• Prepare samples for testing using proper techniques.

2. Testing and Analysis

• Perform laboratory tests according to standard procedures (e.g., blood tests, chemical assays).
• Operate lab equipment like microscopes, centrifuges, spectrometers, etc.
• Analyze results and ensure accuracy.

3. Data Recording and Reporting

• Accurately document test results and observations.
• Maintain detailed records for compliance and analysis.
• Report abnormal results to supervisors or relevant departments.

4. Equipment Maintenance

• Calibrate, clean, and maintain lab instruments.
• Report malfunctioning equipment and arrange repairs when needed.
• Ensure all equipment is used safely and efficiently.

5. Compliance and Safety

• Follow safety protocols for handling chemicals, biological samples, and equipment.
• Dispose of hazardous waste according to regulations.
• Stay updated with laboratory regulations and quality control standards (e.g., ISO, GLP, OSHA).

6. Inventory and Supplies Management

• Monitor stock levels of lab supplies and reagents.
• Place orders for new supplies as needed.
• Properly label and store chemicals and reagents.

7. Collaboration and Communication

• Work with scientists, researchers, or medical staff.
• Participate in lab meetings and communicate findings.
• Assist in training junior staff or interns when required.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Degree/Diploma in Laboratory Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
• Knowledge of lab safety and quality standards.
• Attention to detail and excellent record-keeping.
• Ability to use lab software and data systems.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
