Outside Plant (OSP) Designer (Atlanta, GA)

Telecommunications Outside Plant Designer:

Responsibilities of the Outside Plant (OSP) Designer include design of buried, underground and aerial copper and fiber cable telecommunication systems, and associated plant. This may include taking accurate and detailed field notes and drafting. Successful candidates will become educated and conversant with OSP Design standards, practices, and construction methods. Ideal candidates must have previous experience with CAD, preferably with ARAMIS.

• · Well organized and able to prioritize tasks to meet customer deadlines.
• · Able to work closely with other designers, support groups, and customers to ensure quality and timely project completion.
• · Proficient with CAD applications and Microsoft Office applications.
• · Able to work with minimal supervision, be self-motivated, and be detail oriented.

Knowledge and Skills:

• · Able to access and interact with information systems (ARAMIS, IWM, AOTX, etc.) specific to supporting our clients
• · Able to develop an understanding of, and comply with, all the client’s requirements and practices for design standards for designing OSP.
• · Able to perform field surveys and accurately capture field data as required for design. This includes correctly identifying field conditions that will have an impact on design.
• · Have a solid working knowledge of equipment and plant (poles, manholes, cables, guying, loop electronics, etc.) located in the field and in use by the client, and correctly identify which items need to be documented.
• · Able to design new and existing facilities for both copper and fiber plant utilizing current technology and systems.
• · Able to quality control own work for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with the client’s standards.
• · Able to understand and apply accurate billing standards to work performed.
• · Able to work in a highly dynamic environment and demonstrate an aptitude to learn and adjust quickly to changes in the customer’s requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
