Job Purpose:
To perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of overhead cranes and lifting equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of overhead cranes, hoists, and lifting systems.
- Inspect and test electrical control systems, motors, wiring, panels, and safety devices.
- Diagnose faults in electrical circuits, drives, and PLC systems related to crane operations.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), and electrical codes.
- Support mechanical team during crane installation, commissioning, and upgrades.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and documentation.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and ensure quick resolution to maintain operations.
- Assist in periodic crane load testing, inspections, and statutory compliance checks.
- Collaborate with operations and HSE teams to ensure safe working conditions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma/Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in overhead cranes and lifting equipment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, control panels, motors, VFDs, and PLC systems.
- Familiarity with safety standards, PTW systems, and industrial regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
