Package Engineer

Title: Mechanical Packages Engineer


Our client is a major petrochemical operation known for producing high‑quality chemicals, plastics, and industrial materials used around the world. It operates large, integrated plants and plays a vital role in supplying key sectors like manufacturing, construction, and consumer products.


Responsibilities


  • Lead mechanical package engineering activities across PDP and FEED stages, including design development, proposal preparation, and delivery of engineering deliverables for major projects.
  • Review and approve mechanical package designs, specifications, and engineering outputs, ensuring compliance with international codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical support across project phases, including resolving design and operational issues, engaging with vendors/clients, and supporting procurement activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and govern mechanical package standards while mentoring junior engineers and supporting project planning, scheduling, and performance tracking.


Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 15 years’ experience in petrochemical, refining, oil & gas, or related industries, including significant FEED/EPC exposure.
  • Extensive experience across full project lifecycle for greenfield and brownfield projects, including mechanical package design in PDP/FEED and pre‑tender engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of international codes and regulations (API, ASME, ISO, PIP, NFPA, IEC, HCIS, RCER) with the ability to interpret specifications and evaluate technical deviations.
  • Proven expertise in engineering tools (e.g., PV Elite, COMPRESS), mechanical package deliverables, vendor coordination, and technical problem‑solving within complex project environments.
