PACKAGING DESIGNER

Location: Hershey, Pennsylvania (Remote)
Job Type: 5-week assignment with potential to extend.
Compensation Range: $35 - 45 per hour

We're looking for a strategic and creative Packaging Designer to translate our brand's vision into impactful physical and visual designs. This role is crucial in developing innovative packaging and merchandising by blending creative thinking with research, logic, and brand strategy. You'll work within our Visual Identity System (VIS) and internal workflows, collaborating closely with Design Managers and peers to ensure all designs are accurate, consistent, and meet project deliverables efficiently.

5-week assignment with potential to extend.

Responsibilities:

• Develops and implements visual elements or creative concepts for project deliverables.
• Translate existing and emerging concepts into actual packaging and/or merchandising designs.
• Integrates images, graphics, text, etc. with a great sense of aesthetics while executing against the brand and/or product vision and the creative brief.
• Create presentations, mood boards, and proposals based upon project scope.
• Support the Strategic Design team with technical problem solving in the development of design elements and layouts.
• Uses competitive set understanding to stimulate creative problem solving.
• Conduct marketplace research to stay up-to-date on market trends, emerging brands, and new design developments.
• Recommend improvements in creative design concept tools processes and/or assigned tasks to management
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to provide professional portfolio upon request.
• CPG experience a plus.
• Proficient with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
• High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite Outlook & internet applications.
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
• Verbal and written communication skills (including analysis interpretation & reasoning).
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization as well as internal and external clients.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail deadlines and reporting.

Naturally curious

• Proficient at developing unconventional solutions.
• Desire to understand before attempting to solve problems.
• Knowledge of label print methods.
