Packaging Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Team Management:

Lead, manage, and mentor the packaging team, including supervisors and operators.

Ensure that team members are trained in packaging best practices, quality standards, and safety protocols.

Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the department.

• Packaging Process Optimization:

Develop and implement efficient packaging processes to improve productivity, reduce costs, and maintain quality standards.

Continuously assess and refine packaging workflows, materials, and equipment to enhance operational efficiency.

Coordinate with R&D and design teams to develop new packaging designs and solutions that meet both customer and environmental requirements.

• Quality Control & Compliance:

Ensure all packaged products meet required quality, safety, and regulatory standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.).

Oversee quality checks at every stage of the packaging process, from raw material sourcing to final product packaging.

Resolve any quality-related issues and collaborate with the quality control department to ensure consistency and accuracy in packaging.

• Cost Management & Budgeting:

Develop and manage the packaging budget, ensuring cost-effective use of materials and labour.

Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on packaging quality.

Monitor material wastage, packaging inventory, and supply chain costs, and work towards minimizing overhead costs.

• Inventory and Supplier Management:

Maintain optimal stock levels of packaging materials, ensuring uninterrupted production schedules.

Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to negotiate the best prices and secure high-quality materials.

Coordinate with the procurement team to source new packaging materials when required, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.

• Innovation & Sustainability:

Stay updated with trends and innovations in packaging materials and technologies, including sustainable packaging solutions.

Drive initiatives for environmentally friendly packaging and reduction of plastic waste in line with industry sustainability goals.

Explore automation and new technologies to streamline packaging operations and improve throughput.

• Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.

Oversee the implementation of safety standards and policies to prevent accidents and promote a safe working environment in the packaging area.

Ensure that all packaging operations adhere to environmental and regulatory guidelines.

• Reporting & Documentation:

Provide regular reports to upper management on packaging department performance, production volumes, material usage, and cost-efficiency.

Maintain accurate records of packaging processes, quality inspections, and maintenance activities.

Analyze packaging data and generate insights to improve overall packaging operations.

• Collaboration Across Departments:

Work closely with production, warehousing, and logistics teams to ensure packaging processes align with production schedules and delivery timelines.

Collaborate with the marketing and design teams to ensure that packaging aligns with brand requirements and customer expectations.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Technology, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in packaging management or a related role within manufacturing, preferably in the plastics or packaging industry.
• Proven experience in managing teams and optimizing packaging operations in a fast-paced production environment.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in packaging machinery and automation systems.
• Strong understanding of packaging materials, including plastics, paper, and eco-friendly alternatives.
• Familiarity with packaging design and development processes.
• Leadership & Management:
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide a diverse team.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
• Cost Control & Budgeting:
• Experience in budgeting, cost control, and inventory management for packaging operations.
• Communication Skills:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with internal teams, vendors, and senior management.
• Attention to Detail:
• Exceptional focus on quality control and ensuring the accuracy of all packaged products.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
