THE OPPORTUNITY
We're looking for a Paid Media Manager who can own the entire paid acquisition engine—driving measurable growth across product sales, bookshelf+ subscriptions, and retail sales channels. This is a high-autonomy role for someone who thrives on performance accountability and can scale campaigns that directly impact revenue. We are seeking a data-driven Paid Media Manager to own performance marketing across Google, Meta, Pinterest, YouTube, and emerging platforms. This role is responsible for driving measurable revenue growth across retail and e-commerce by maximizing return on ad spend and improving customer acquisition efficiency.

This is a high-impact individual contributor role for someone who thrives in performance environments, understands full-funnel strategy, and can translate data into decisive action.

You will report to the Senior Omnichannel Marketing Manager and collaborate closely with creative, ecommerce, sales channel, and data teams to ensure paid media supports broader revenue and brand growth objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

85% Paid Media Marketing Strategy Development, Campaign Management & Performance Analytics: Develop, define, and lead the paid media strategy for Deseret Book. This includes:

  • Strategy Development & Execution:
  • Architect comprehensive paid marketing strategies aligned with company objectives and customer journey stages (awareness, consideration, conversion, retention, loyalty) to revenue and growth targets
  • Develop sophisticated customer segmentation strategies based on behavioral data, purchase history, and engagement patterns
  • Design and implement paid marketing calendars aligned with product launches, seasonal campaigns, and faith-based events that support the overall customer journey
  • Lead end-to-end paid media strategy across Google Ads (Search, Shopping, Display, Performance Max), Meta, Pinterest, and YouTube
  • Launch, optimize, and scale campaigns based on performance data
  • Performance Analytics & Optimization
  • Develop comprehensive reporting dashboards to track campaign performance and ROI/ROAS
  • Identify trends and insights to continuously improve marketing effectiveness
  • Budget & Profitability Management
  • Manage and allocate significant annual media budgets with clear accountability to ROAS and CAC targets
  • Continuously optimize toward revenue growth and efficiency
  • Shift spend dynamically across platforms based on performance signals
  • Testing & Optimization
  • Design structured testing roadmaps across creative, copy, audiences, and bidding strategies
  • Translate data into insights and apply learnings quickly
  • Partner with Creative to develop high-performing ad concepts and briefs
  • Analytics & Reporting
  • Own weekly and monthly performance reporting
  • Clearly communicate results, trends, and growth opportunities to leadership
  • Identify and recommend new growth channels or scaling opportunities
  • Audience & Data Strategy
  • Develop and operationalize audience strategies using first-party data, lifecycle segmentation, lookalike modeling, and intent signals to improve acquisition efficiency and scale
  • Leverage customer lifecycle insights to support acquisition and retention
  • Stay ahead of privacy updates and platform changes

15% Traditional Paid Media Management: Oversee strategy and purchasing of digital and traditional paid media marketing efforts that will drive traffic to DeseretBook.com, Deseret Book brick-and-mortar stores, and bookshelf+ including:

  • Billboards, web ads, TV spots, radio, etc.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in digital marketing, or related field and minimum of 4–6+ years of hands-on paid media management experience, ideally in retail, e-commerce
  • Deep expertise in Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager (Pinterest and YouTube experience preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in GA4, platform reporting dashboards, and Excel/Sheets
  • Proven track record of managing substantial media budgets with documented ROAS improvement
  • Strong understanding of acquisition metrics: CAC, MER, AOV, LTV, contribution margin
  • Experience with CDPs, conversion API integrations, churn reduction and subscription LTV modeling
  • Experience operating in performance-driven environments with revenue accountability
  • Clear communicator who can translate complex data into strategic recommendations
  • Self-directed, analytical, and comfortable making decisions with autonomy
