Painter finishing

• Site preparation: Set up scaffolding and ladders, cover fixtures and furniture, and clean the work area.
• Surface preparation: Scrape old paint, sand surfaces, fill cracks and holes with appropriate fillers (e.g., plaster, putty), and prime bare wood or metal.
• Painting and finishing: Mix paints to achieve the correct color and texture, apply primers and finish coats using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment, and apply varnishes and other finishes.
• Quality control: Inspect finished work for imperfections and perform touch-ups as needed to meet project standards.
• Material and project management: Measure work areas to calculate materials, keep records of materials used, and ensure the work is completed on time.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with other construction professionals like carpenters and electricians, and work with other painters on larger jobs.

Skills and qualifications

• Proven experience as a painter.
• Ability to prepare surfaces and mix paints accurately.
• Knowledge of different painting tools and techniques.
• Familiarity with health and safety standards on a construction site.
