Painter Helper

Duties

• Assist with surface preparation including sanding, scraping, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion
• Handle and organize hand tools and power tools such as brushes, rollers, sprayers, and caulking guns
• Support the application of paint, primer, stain, or sealant on walls, ceilings, trim, and other surfaces under supervision
• Help with mixing paints according to color theory principles for accurate color matching in residential and commercial projects
• Prepare work areas by masking off surfaces, covering furniture or fixtures, and setting up scaffolding or ladders safely
• Assist with other construction tasks like plastering, caulking, fixture installation, or basic carpentry as needed
• Follow safety protocols on construction sites including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to schematics or blueprints

Skills

• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools used in painting and construction work
• Understanding of color theory for accurate color matching and aesthetic consistency
• Experience with residential painting, commercial painting, or construction site work is a plus
• Familiarity with blueprint reading and schematics for project understanding
• Knowledge of related trades such as plastering, stucco application, masonry, or framing carpentry enhances versatility
• Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations
• Strong teamwork skills combined with handyman experience or renovation background are highly valued
• Willingness to learn new skills like airless paint spraying or industrial painting techniques

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
