Job Summary:

The Painting Inspector is responsible for monitoring and inspecting all surface preparation, painting, and coating activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements. The role ensures surface protection quality and durability through proper inspection and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect surface preparation and coating/painting processes to ensure compliance with specifications and standards (SSPC, NACE, ISO, etc.).
• Verify and monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point) before and during painting.
• Check materials for approval, expiry, and compatibility as per the approved paint system.
• Inspect and record surface profile, dry film thickness (DFT), and adhesion tests.
• Review and verify painting procedures, inspection test plans (ITP), and method statements.
• Monitor application techniques — spray, brush, or roller — and ensure correct mixing ratios and curing times.
• Identify non-conformances, recommend corrective actions, and verify repairs.
• Maintain accurate inspection reports, logs, and coating records.
• Coordinate with QA/QC engineers, contractors, and client representatives during inspection and final acceptance.
• Ensure all painting activities comply with safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Certification in Coating or Painting Inspection (e.g., NACE Level 2 / BGAS Grade 2 / FROSIO).
• Strong knowledge of ISO, MSS-SP, NACE coating standards.
• Experience in coating selection, application, troubleshooting, insulation, and fireproofing inspections.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in painting/coating inspection (preferably in oil & gas or construction).
• Strong analytical and documentation skills.
• Good communication and coordination abilities.
• Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, report generation).
