EaglePicher is headquartered in Joplin, MO with manufacturing and research and development facilities in Joplin, MO, Seneca, MO, Pittsburg, KS, East Greenwich, RI and in Southbridge, MA.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Paralegal will assist the Legal Department and the Company by providing support services including document preparation and review; research, fact checking, and other services.
Responsibilities:
- Independently reviews, drafts and negotiates NDA's and standard contract terms and conditions.

Independently manages corporate governance activities, including preparation and filing annual reports and drafting board & shareholders minutes.

Independently drafts business documents including routine contracts, affidavits, resolutions, policies and procedures.

Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources.

Develops, maintains, and organizes legal files, databases, and contract management systems.

Maintains intellectual property portfolio with outside counsel oversight.

Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves files; ensures legal department files are maintained and destroyed in compliance with record retention policies and procedures.

Assists with litigation support.

Assists department with transactions.

Develops and maintains records regarding hours spent on specific matters.

Performs general administrative support and other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong knowledge of contract negotiation principles and experience supporting contract reviews.

Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills and attention to detail.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:

At least five years of progressively responsible experience in a corporate legal department preferably in the government contracting or defense industry.

Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
