Litigation Paralegal
Bear River Mutual is seeking a talented and self-driven paralegal to assist in-house counsel in all stages of litigation. Experience in personal injury or insurance defense work is preferred, but any experience in a litigation practice will be considered. This position will work primarily from our office in Murray, Utah, with an option for limited work from home.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Preparing, collecting, and summarizing the information, data and evidence for use in hearings or trials.
  • Preparing legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, notices, etc.
  • Issuing subpoenas and tracking responses to subpoenas and other records requests.
  • Organizing case research, notes, medical records, legal documents, and client materials.
  • Maintaining an accurate calendar with meetings, hearings, depositions, case deadlines, etc.
  • Communicating with clients, law firms, and courts to coordinate case activities.
  • Verifying documents for accuracy. Editing and proofreading legal documents; researching, medical records, public and private records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with rules of civil procedure and other legal processes.
  • Experience in drafting and filing pleadings, motions, answers, and other pleadings.
  • Excellent computer and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a can-do attitude.
