Duties

  • Assist attorneys with drafting, reviewing, and proofreading legal documents, including, pleadings, written discovery, and other correspondences, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.
  • Manage legal case files and document management systems, maintaining organized records for easy retrieval and review.
  • Support case benchmarks by coordinating deadlines, scheduling internal meetings, and tracking case progress.
  • Conduct interviews and/or intakes with clients or witnesses to gather pertinent information for ongoing cases or investigations to support attorney.
  • Facilitate communication within the law office through professional phone etiquette, clerical support, and administrative assistance to ensure seamless operations.
  • Notarizing pleadings and necessary documents as necessary. Must obtain notary certification within 30 days of hiring.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Paralegal with a strong background in family law and personal injury law, including pre-suit.
  • Expertise in legal research tools including LexisNexis and Westlaw; familiarity with legal research methodologies is a plus.
  • Proficiency in document management systems such as iManage and Clio; experience with GSuite is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents, reports, and correspondence that are clear, concise, and professional.
  • Effective proofreading and transcription abilities to ensure error-free documentation.
  • Experience supporting law office administrative functions including filing, data entry, clerical tasks, and maintaining filing systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills demonstrated through interviewing clients or witnesses with professionalism and sensitivity.

Expected hours: 32.0 per week
