Paralegal (CAP Unit) - Limited Term Employee (Milwaukee Trial Office)

Introduction


The Office of the State Public Defender (SPD) is currently recruiting to fill a Paralegal (Limited Term Employee) vacancy in our CAP Unit at the Milwaukee Trial office to work up to 40 hours per week.

Of special note regarding Limited Term Employment (LTE) employment with the State of Wisconsin:

  • LTE positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to a permanent civil service classified position, and do not lead to permanent status.
  • LTE positions are not eligible for the State of Wisconsin health insurance coverage, the Wisconsin Retirement System contributions, and do not received paid time off.

  • Wisconsin residency is required for LTE positions.

  • No more than 1039 hours may be worked in one year.

Position Summary


The primary duties of this position are to manage the intake process of private bar cases in the Trial Division as well as manage the client complaints regarding private bar attorneys.

Salary Information


Starting salary will be $24.12/hour.

2. Effective written, oral, and communication skills
