Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Workers’ Compensation Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in managing all phases of Connecticut workers’ compensation cases from intake through resolution. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage a high-volume caseload, and familiarity with Connecticut Workers’ Compensation Commission procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in all aspects of workers’ compensation matters, including client intake, case development, and file management.
  • Draft and file legal documents such as Forms 30C, hearing requests, subpoenas, and medical authorizations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and calendars, including hearing dates, deadlines, and benefit payments.
  • Obtain, review, and summarize medical records and employment records.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, and the Workers’ Compensation Commission.
  • Prepare hearing packets, settlement documents (e.g., Stipulations and Voluntary Agreements), and correspondence.
  • Track and monitor benefits, liens, and reimbursements.
  • Support attorneys at formal and informal hearings as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of paralegal experience preferred; workers’ compensation experience in Connecticut strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Connecticut Workers’ Compensation Commission procedures and forms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases with excellent time management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $59,202.30 - $71,297.39 per year
