Part Time (3/5th's) STREAM and Library Teacher

Position Summary
The STREAM & Library Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering engaging, interdisciplinary lessons that integrate Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STREAM) with library and information literacy skills. This role fosters curiosity, critical thinking, ethical reflection, and a love of reading and research. The teacher manages library resources while creating a dynamic learning environment that supports students’ academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum Development

  • Plan and implement standards-aligned STREAM lessons for assigned grade levels.
  • Integrate research skills, digital literacy, and ethical inquiry (including religion/values-based perspectives where appropriate) into instruction.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Use project-based and inquiry-driven approaches to promote problem-solving and creativity.
  • Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback.

Library Program Management

  • Maintain and organize the school library collection (print and digital).
  • Curate resources that support curriculum, student interests, and diverse perspectives.
  • Teach information literacy, research strategies, and responsible use of technology.
  • Collaborate with faculty to support classroom instruction through library resources.
  • Promote reading through programs, displays, and events.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work with teachers and administration to integrate STREAM and library services across subjects.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families regarding student progress and library initiatives.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as appropriate for a 3/5 schedule.

Learning Environment & Operations

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom and library environment.
  • Manage classroom behavior and establish clear expectations.
  • Oversee circulation systems, inventory, and resource budgeting (as assigned).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Education, Library Science, STEM field, or related area.
  • Valid teaching certification (as required by state/school).
  • Experience teaching STREAM/STEM and/or library/media skills preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and digital research tools.

Schedule & Terms

  • 3/5 Full-Time Equivalent (e.g., three full days or equivalent schedule as determined by the school).
  • 10-month academic year position.
  • Hours 10-3 PM

Pay: From $27,000.00 per year
