Part-Time, 7th and 8th Grade Middle School Teacher

What you’ll do

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and promotes literacy education.
• Utilize various teaching techniques, including technology integration, to enhance student engagement in subjects such as Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, and Trigonometry.
• Assess student progress through standardized testing and provide constructive feedback to support their academic development.
• Mentor students in both academic subjects and personal growth, encouraging them to reach their full potential.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively while maintaining a positive atmosphere conducive to learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and participate in professional development opportunities.
• Engage in public speaking activities that promote school events and foster community involvement.

Basic qualifications

• Proven experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in special education or Montessori methods is a plus.
• Familiarity with AP style and the Chicago Manual of Style for writing instruction.
• Background in sports coaching or physical education is advantageous.
• Knowledge of library services and academic advising practices.
