Job Summary:
Assists the Airport Manager, maintains airport grounds, and assists pilots and their guests while utilizing the facility. Assists customers to fuel aircraft with 100LL self- service fuel pump, moves aircraft utilizing a tug, and services their aircraft for safe take-off.
Hours:
The City of Sand Springs Pogue Airport business hours are Monday through Saturday (8-5) and Sunday (10-5). Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas day, and New Year’s Day.
This position is Part-Time (<30 hours each week) and works Sat (8-5); Sun (10-5); One Weekday (8-5)
Major Responsibilities:

Fuel- piston engine aircraft.

Moves aircraft in and out of hangar and repositions aircraft by tug or by hand.

Performs other grounds maintenance such as mowing, weed trimming and picking up trash.

Performs retail sales duties, operates cash register accurately, accurately accounts for sales, and balances cash register.

Accurately maintains various records of activities at terminal including fuel logs, altimeter-setting log, aircraft operations logs, fuel inspection logs, etc.

Accurately reads instruments and operates radio base Unicom for airport advisories by communicating effectively.

Performs housekeeping duties in airport terminal such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, etc.

Performs airport operations duties in the absence of Airport Supervisor.

Operates computer with Office Windows.

Issues FAA NOTAMS and complete EPA/FAA/OAC airport inspections.

Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting other departments as required.
Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge:

High school graduate or GED
-
One year or more line service or aviation experience preferred

Must be bondable

Knowledge of basic principles used to safely operate refueling stations

Knowledge and skill in the use of lawn equipment and minor hand tools

Knowledge of a professional computer and associated software packages utilized within the department

Skill in oral and written communication

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
