Part-Time Bookkeeper

ValuePest is a family-run residential pest control company that has served North Carolina homeowners since 1989. We keep things simple: one plan, one price, everything covered — no add-ons, no surprise fees. We’re looking for a detail-oriented bookkeeper/accountant to take over our day-to-day books as our long-time bookkeeper steps into retirement.

The Role

This is a part-time, on-site position handling the financial recordkeeping for a small, established local business. You’ll own the books week to week and work alongside ownership and our outside CPA. It’s a great fit for an experienced bookkeeper who wants steady, flexible part-time hours with a friendly local company.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain day-to-day books in QuickBooks — record and categorize transactions, accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and merchant accounts monthly
• Run payroll for our staff and technicians, including related tax deposits and recordkeeping
• Produce monthly financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for ownership
• Organize and hand off clean, year-end records to our outside CPA at tax time
• Keep vendor, customer, and expense records accurate and audit-ready

What We’re Looking For

• Proven bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally with a small business
• Strong, hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks — this is essential
• Payroll processing experience
• Solid understanding of standard bookkeeping practices and month-end close
• Highly organized, accurate, and able to work independently with minimal oversight
• Trustworthy and discreet with sensitive financial information
• Able to work on-site in the Charlotte, NC area

Nice to Have

• Experience in a services, trades, or field-service business
• QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
