We’re a family of five in Redwood City looking for a warm, organized person to support our morning school routine and help keep our home running smoothly mid-week. This is a permanent part-time role — we’re hoping to find someone who wants to be a consistent, trusted part of our family long-term. Our kids are 6, 3, and 1.

Guaranteed 10 hours/week, year-round with flexibility and off days. We’re a two-parent working household that is looking for someone to help for the next few years.

Schedule varies slightly by season:

During the school year (follows Newark Unified School District calendar):

School mornings (Mon, Tue, Fri) — ~6 hrs

• 7:00–9:00am (flexible 7:15–7:30 start; some days may end by 8:45).
• Morning routine support (breakfast, getting kids ready, out the door).
• Drop-off for three kids: first school ~5 min away, second school ~20 min with traffic.
• On days you don’t drive, morning hours shift to household tasks — tidying, folding laundry, or grocery shopping.
• Light kitchen tidy after drop-offs if time allows.

Household support (Wed and/or Thu) — ~4 hrs

• Flexible timing, ideally morning (roughly 8am–1pm window).
• Laundry (wash, dry, fold, and put away).
• Light tidying and home reset — wiping surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas, keeping common spaces organized.
• Grocery shopping and household supply restocking.
• Occasional errands.
• No drop-off required these days.

Additional hours available (not guaranteed):

• Open to extra hours some weeks for date night babysitting, special errands, or one-off household projects — great for someone who wants flexibility to earn more without a rigid commitment.

Compensation ($30-40 / hr):

• Starting at $30/hr for those newer to household or childcare work, with an additional $1–2/hr for each year of relevant experience. A candidate with 4 years of experience can expect around $34–$38/hr; 5+ years $36–$40/hr.
• 10 hrs/week guaranteed year-round.
• 22 paid days off annually — Thanksgiving week, winter/Christmas break, and all NUSD holidays — more than most part-time positions offer.
• 5 paid sick days/year.

During summer and school breaks:

• 10 hrs/week of household support and family assistance
• Schedule arranged collaboratively in advance — no fixed morning commitment

What we’re looking for:

• Experience with school-age children; warm and comfortable with morning chaos.
• Organized and proactive with household tasks — you notice what needs doing without being asked.
• Reliable and punctual — our school mornings run on a tight schedule.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Trustworthy, discreet, and a genuinely good fit with our family’s culture.
• References and background check required.
