JOB
The Facilities & Operations Department is responsible for providing quality infrastructure that conveys safe, efficient delivery of essential goods and services, providing clean and beautiful public spaces that maximize the natural environment to enhance the overall quality of life and delivers professional quality public service with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.Under general supervision, assists in making the library a welcoming environment for citizens by cleaning, modifying spaces, moving furniture and assisting staff and members of the public as needed. It is imperative job duties are performed with respect, integrity, objectivity and in the best interest of the City. All City employees are expected to be honest and truthful at all times.This is a 20 hours per week part time position working the hours 6am - 10am. This position is eligible for prorated benefits including paid holidays, paid time off, health, dental, and vision insurances.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential Responsibilities: Washes, dusts, vacuums, and cleans Library facility and furniture.Cleans and disinfects restrooms and maintains supplies (soap, toilet paper, etc.).Disposes of trash and recycles applicable materials.Shampoos and extracts carpets, scrub other surfaced floors (tile).Assistswith moving furniture as needed for displays and/or programs.General Responsibilities: Reports Library safety and security matters to management team.Provides customer service and assistance in the use of Library services.Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. check.Work Environment: On a frequent basis, the janitorial cleaner stands, walks, bends, stoops and is on their feet for sustained periods. Position required frequent repetitive motions with the use of hands, legs, and back. Frequent exposure to cleaning supplies and chemicals and possibility for exposure to disagreeable substances (such as while cleaning restrooms).
