Part-Time Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

Hi! My name is Kate. I'm 27 and live in Northern NJ. I have a neuromuscular disease and use a wheelchair, and due to my disability, I need help with day-to-day tasks. Through Medicaid, I'm able to hire Personal Care Assistants (fancy term for aide) to help me out and live my life as independently as possible!

I'm currently looking to hire a part-time aide for during the day. This position will include helping me get up, washed, dressed, and into my wheelchair, so you must be able to roll/scoot around an approximately 100 lb. person (me), though I do have a Hoyer lift for transfers. Aside from getting up and ready in the morning, I also need help getting something to eat, taking my meds, some light cleaning and laundry, running errands or going to appointments in my van when needed, and other things like that.

The entire timeframe I am looking cover is every weekday 9:30 AM - approx. 5 PM. Currently every day is available. The job pays $20/hour through a Medicaid program, so you must also be willing to sign up for said program.

Perfect for people who want to pick up some stray hours here and there, for students who are interested in having a casual part-time job around their class schedule, or even anyone looking to gain some experience in healthcare in a laid back, lower stress environment!

No prior experience is required and (unpaid, my apologies) training will be provided. Anyone interested just needs to be comfortable and able to help a woman with personal care. More specific details will be given upon serious inquiry.
